There is something about walking among 250 year old ruins that commands your respect. The mission in Tumacacori, near the Arizona/Mexico border is such a place. Several different native american tribes factor in the history of this place, conquistadors and missionaries were here. Today Mission San José de Tumacácori stands somewhat restored and is designated Tumacácori National Historical Park.
This stucco covered wall and window are part of the effort by restoration specialists to recreate the property as it was in the mid 1800's before it was abandoned. I love the color against the blue sky, this photo typifies the southeast to me.
