US Naval Academy, Annapolis MD. I worked at the academy, briefly. It was a terrific experience, it is a gorgeous campus and the mids are just fun to be around.
One morning as I drove in to work it was really foggy, pea soup kind of fog, Steven King and 'The Mist' kind of fog. I drove over the bridge at College Creek and I looked to my left expecting to see the usual group of students in PT gear doing their morning group run. Instead I turned and saw this stunning pre-dawn scene. Fog is a funny thing, it may roll in and cover you for the whole day, or a breeze may kick up and it rolls away in a few minutes. You never know which will happen. So, I parked as fast as I could and ran back to this spot hoping the fog was still hanging around. As it turns out the fog lasted a long time, but very quickly the daylight appeared and the streetlights went out. This image would not be the same without the golden lights to offset the blue of the morning light.
