Dying Saguaro cactus
First in a series, I saw this cactus from the road years ago and hiked out to see it. I knew right away it needed to be photographed. I kept an eye on the skies and managed go back when the clouds were amazing. I made this image from a series of long exposures using an infrared filter and capturing the image in black and white. A sepia tone reminiscent of the old west adds a bit to the feeling of age in the cactus.
