Stand still. That's what I did for this photo. I took the advice of several famous street shooters who said that good street art means finding a location with interesting light and physical elements and waiting for something to happen.
With that in mind I went out into the city at night looking for patterns and colors and a place where I could hang out, out of the way, and wait for 'something to happen.' This woman walked by and had to pause to wait for others to get out of her way. I saw the pattern of shadows surround her feet, the half light/half dark balance, and the weird green color.. I'd like to say I was smart enough to actually compose this photo but I pulled my camera up to my face and shot 1 image(thank goodness for autofocus!) before she was clear to move on. I tried to hang out there and capture another one but it was not to be.
A little voice in my head told me; 'that's why you came out tonight, you can go home now'...so I did.
This photo reminds me...just go. You are guaranteed to get nothing if you sit home and make excuses for not going out and practicing your craft. There are so many areas of my life that need that reminder. I often use this as my desktop wallpaper to motivate me to get off my butt and go find something!
