Carnival ride
Don't we all love carnivals? Fairs? Amusement Parks? At least a little bit?! For me it's totally a visual thing, I haven't been on a carnival ride in decades, but I do think they are fun to look at, and where else can you clog your arteries with funnel cake? There is the people watching aspect too...interesting folks can be found there both buying, and selling tickets!
Anyway, on a not too busy night I was able to set up a tripod and not be in anybody's way and shoot some time exposures of the rides. In my images the colors were loud and fun and predictably streaky but when I flipped this image to b&w I really liked it. It takes this ride and turns it into something truly abstract. For me it harkens back to an old sci-fi movie starring Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff and the ability to visit another dimension in time. Hence the title; 'The Time Machine'.
